The Fishermen’s Collection is inspired by Vietnamese fishing culture and the large nets that are casted into sea. These nets take on an array of organic shapes and forms before they are finally pulled back in. The architectural landscape of Vietnam mirrors its deep-rooted traditions in fishing. Stilt houses elevated with bamboo poles and boat homes- a mobile adaptation to maritime culture.
Fishermen Sweatshirt is constructed with double lined heavy cotton fleece, a material that is durable and lasting. A top layer of net fabric encapsulates the piece, mirroring a fishermen’s ‘big catch’. The ‘Bubble’ Jean is an aquatic take on the classic jean. This piece is inspired by Vietnamese fishermen nets; when viewed from above these large nets are organic, flowing, and free-forming [see references below].The ‘Drop out’ shirt is a rendition on the classic layered long sleeve shirt. It features a short sleeve dress shirt attached to a formal dress shirt, leaving corporate rigidness behind.
